According to this picture on Flickr, Pressnitztalbahn 246 049-2 has received promotional stickers stating: "Wir können mehr als nur Dampf machen! ...deine Ausbildung zum Lokführer bei uns! Zwei starke Partner für eine Region". Additionally, the logos of Pressnitztalbahn and Erzgebirgsbahn feature on the locomotive.

For rescue services on the Erfurt-Halle/Leipzig high speed line, DB Fernverkehr hires two Class 285 TRAXX diesel locos from Pressnitztalbahn. For this purpose, locos 285 101-5 and 285 102-4 have been equipped with automatic couplers.

Yesterday (January 6), ICE 1632 stranded on the NBS Erfurt-Halle/Leipzig and required the help of one of the rescue locos. This was the first time one of the locos had to come into action. On-board of the train, the rescue locos was also noticed (see Tweet). Unfortunately, a malfunctioning safety system also required the use of the second locomotive.

The latest addition to the fleet of the Pressnitztalbahn just go a new number: 246 011 is now the 246 049. no. 049 because it is the 49th locomotive in the fleet of the Pressnitztalbahn. Why 285 101-104 did not get a PRESS-style designtions up till now is unclear to us.

Yes, former LNVG / IGT diesel locomotive 246 011-1 has lost its IGT stickers and LNVG livery, now it is blue. Its new owner: the Pressnitztalbahn.

Today the machine has its maiden run after an overhaul in Kassel by Bombardier. The locomotive does have the usual Press logos, but not the standard 'Press blue' color. The base livery is a darker blue, more like ultramarine.

According to MDR Thüringen, Deutsche Bahn AG has hired two of the recently delivered TRAXX DE locomotives from Pressnitztalbahn: 285 101-5 and 285 102-4.

The two machines will serve as rescue locos on the Erfurt-Halle/Leipzig high speed line, for example to rescue trains that have stranded due to catenary damage.

Currently, the locos are used for driver training and route learning on the brand new line, which will enter service on December 13. Especially for their rescue duties, the locos have been equipped with automatic couplers.

On July 24, PRESS 285 101-5 (former Bombardier stock loco 76 001) made a test run from Kassel to Hannover and back. The company has acquired four such machines from Bombardier, the other three locos being 76 002, 003 and 004.
