Eurocom 481

Eurocom Zrt was a open access operator from Hungary. It took delivery of two TRAXX AC2 electrics in 2008, both being financed by Deutsche Leasing Hungaria Kft. They were the first TRAXX locomotives in Hungary.

The first unit, designated as 481 001 (originally planned as 185 582!), was released from work in Kassel in December 2007. It was transported to Hungary in January 2008. Locomotive number two was completed in September 2008 and had its maiden run to Fulda on 12.09.2008. On 18.09.2008 it left Kassel, bound to Hungary.

481 001 and 002 were mainly used for stone transports across Hungary. Until 2010, when Eurocom went bankrupt. AWT from Budapest took over the majority of Eurocom's services, hiring both 481 001 and 002 on a irregular basis.

During the summer of 2011, both locomotives payed a visit to Bombardier in Kassel and Siemens' test center in Wegberg-Wildenrath. The machines were seen on being for sale, but as far as we know now, the locomotives remained property of Deutsche Leasing Hungaria, and were hired to lease company Railpool instead. In November-December 2011, they were repainted in Railpool's standard silver/blue livery.
